Numerical simulation of the mold filling process and its experimental validation

Abstract The present study deals with the simulation of filling process in injection molding using Ansys CFX and its experimental validation. For this purpose, an exemplary mold is investigated numerically as well experimentally at different time steps. numerical investigation, a suitable model elaborated CFX, which enables such comparison. In particular, representation viscosity for polymers not common CFX. Therefore, Carreau-WLF adapted considered polymer Schulamind 66 SK 1000 integrated into contribution focuses on comparison calculated flow front contour respective levels melt from experiments. Furthermore, detailed analysis temperature profiles included order to illustrate effect shear-induced changes interplay between field injected polymer. conclusion, nicely fits results despite some slight deviations early stages.
